Default Necro/Ranger OR Ranger/Necro??

I have been reading these forums for a while now i am trying to get all the class skills unlocked so i am playing every class in PvE so i can make a great Build in PvP but i have yet to really play necro or ranger so i figure i would make a ranger/necro or necro/ranger.. i just want to know what would be best for PvE i am pretty sure that the armor difference isnt much from what i see its like 10 points lower for necros then for rangers. so is Soul reaping and more energy better then a little more armor and Expertise? please help me out =)

"I" would go with Necro Ranger because you could use Death Magic, Soul Reaping and Marksmanship.
Then go for horrors. You could have some undead fighting at front while you dish out dmg from the back. Sould Reaping will ensure a flowing energy income while the enemys and minions die and you can keep on dishing out bow dmg. Besides that you would have Deathly Swarm (deth magic) and could harm up to three 3 enemys with that spell and you get other corpse using spell and skill.

Actually this build sounds really interesting ^^. I'm a summoner Necro with Death/Blood Soul and very low Monk Heal, so i stay at back anyway.

I must add:
Minor set back could be when there are no corpses. Not all enemys leave corspes to exploit and in some very few locations, necro enemys use corspes as well.
Still such a build should work out.

Ice blighters outside of fisherman's cove. ARGH!!!! They keep casting putrid explosion on all my corpses! HATE them. They have a good amount of death magic too, they do like, 80+ damage.

I get upset when I run into an area without corpses. I feel so useless to my team.

Thats why i keep blood magic, so i can dish out at least dmg. I tried curses but then you have only Deathly Swarm as ranged direct dmg dealer spell and that is weak.

Sometimes i think about smiting and blood together. You don't get to raise an undead army but you have alot of attacks and blood sucking skills and then a good soul reaping and you have energy and maybe heal's too.

I love this game, so many options ^^.

Don't forget about the Ranger pet. Just throw a few extra points in Beastmastery and you've got a solid permanent pet to anchor your minion squad. If nothing else, it's by far the most efficient DoT in the game.

or... if you're serious about the game, go with Ranger/Necro as it's easily one of the most sold builds in the game.

In PvP, R/N with Rend Enchantments are not uncommon and for good reason.

It comes down to whether or not you want to play as a Ranger or a Necromancer. Pick your primary accordingly. N/R using bow skills would be rough... ranger skills are often meant to be spammed, requiring a hefty amount of energy... which is why Ranger Primaries are blessed with Expertise. With a Zealous Bow, you MIGHT be able to make it work... but it'd be difficult. It's up to you. However, you DID say that you wanted to be good in PvP... so, might as well practice with PvE and go with a R/N.
